Vintage Cellars recently transformed an underused closet in the Crystal Cove, Newport Beach Residential Development Development in Orange County, California into a functional wine room or wine closet. We combined different wine rack styles to create a stunning wine storage space for the client's wine collection. We came up with a wine racking design that can hold up to 812 bottles.
We crafted the wine storage racks from Premium all heart Redwood with a dark walnut stain to add elegance and classic appeal to this Newport Beach California modern yet rustic wine cellar. This wood variety is ideal for climate-controlled wine rooms because of its high resistance to mildew, molds, and decay. It can also withstand humid conditions in refrigerated wine cellars.
There's a high-reveal display row that runs the entire wine racking, which stores bottles in a 15-degree angle and allows for easy browsing as well as keeping the corks wet and the wines properly stored. We also incorporated rectangular wine storage bins to let the owner organize his favorite vintages accordingly.
The focal point of this home wine cellar is the solid arch installed at the front wall of the room. We added a tabletop below the arch, which provides a space for decanting and pouring wine. Above the arch are individual storage slots for 750ml wine bottles. The wine racking in this custom wine room contains solid diamond bins as well which are ideal for bulk wine storage.
