What got you into wines?

“I went to school at California State University Long Beach and spent a few years living in Southern California, long enough to realize I belonged in the desert. Although, my time in California really helped to solidify my love of wine and kicked off my lifelong desire to learn all I could about the industry. At one point, I seriously considered going back to school to learn to be a winemaker!” As a kid, Jason and his family moved around a lot but spent most of his time in Arizona. He took his education on the West Coast, submersing him in some of the world’s best wineries and vineyards!

What got you into wine cellars?

“Ultimately, my passion for wine and the desire to connect my passion with my work. I’m a firm believer in the saying do what you love, and the money will follow! When I’m not in the mountains, I’m a certified sommelier and love educating people on wine and helping people build the perfect wine cellar.”

Jason has been building wine cellars for over five years. His personal favorite is creating modern or contemporary wine cellar designs, and he thrives in situations that allow him to be super creative. To him, brainstorming modern and contemporary designs allows him to go in so many directions, as there are tons of options! Although Jason personally loves modern styles, you can count on him to produce other styles of wine cellars!

What’s your approach to building wine cellars?

“My approach comes down to getting to know my clients and their desires and needs. What kind of wine lover are you? Casual or collector? Once establishing this, I look to educate them on what it takes to build a wine cellar, or what I like to call a very large refrigerator. Finally, giving them options that will allow them to get what they want and stay within their budget.”
