Classic All Heart Redwood Custom Wine Cellar with Magnum Waterfall Racking, Tasting Table, and Large Format Storage
From the dining room of this Rancho Santa Fe estate, visitors’ eyes are drawn through the glass wall into the home’s grand modern wine cellar. Behind the glass entrance is an imaginative cellar of more than 6,000 bottles that incorporates a number of unique features.
Having already constructed two cellars for this particular collector, on this occasion Vintage Cellars was asked to take a large but irregularly shaped room and turn it into a high-capacity wine cellar to store and display an expansive collection of prized wines from all over the world. Relying on its decades of experience in wine storage, Vintage Cellars creatively maximized the storage capacity of this sweeping modern wine cellar while maintaining an open, visitor-friendly design.
By installing a wide glass entrance from the dining room and using a number of mirrors inside the cellar, a contemporary yet timeless style was established. To further complete this modern wine cellar, popular redwood racking was installed and generous lighting was used throughout the cellar to highlight custom pull-out, large format, and waterfall display racking.
This large custom wine cellar was built in Rancho Santa Fe, California. This large irregular shaped wine room used All heart redwood wine racking as the wood species throughout. With so many rustic, yet elegant features, this modern and refined custom designed space is a great representation of Vintage Cellars' work as wine cellar builders. With many features including waterfall tier magnum racking, a gorgeous marble countertop centerpiece display, library style floor to ceiling wine racks, as well as wine case storage, horizontal and high reveal displays, and an arch covered mirror and tabletop, this custom wine cellars is truly a masterpiece.
While the large room offered plenty of space to store the wine, the unusual shape of the room necessitated careful preparation to create a cellar in which the wine collection could be properly aged and shared with visitors. The first step was installing two cooling systems on opposite ends of the cellar to maintain a secure and consistent temperature throughout the room. Secondly, by paying close attention to the accessibility and flow of the room, the cellar allowed for comfortable spaces for visitors to be entertained.
